Its been so hetic lately with work and finances argh! Well I've started at uni now so on my way to making it big woot ;) If I can be bothered to work that is nooooo ;) Thought I'd show you guys what I've been up to anyway x

So bad use of type face, I chose this because it screams dated. Its a typical example of past design and fashion and what was "right" used in a modern context it would be ripped apart because of how retro it really is. However it does work with the badly drawn illustration but fit the font into a modern context of books and what adult audiences expect from book covers " never judge a book by the cover" doesn't work anymore.

Now in comparison this book covers font is so much more powerful because of the style and it comes over more sophisticated. The font works well with the design layout of the cover too.  It appeals to an adult audience which I feel the designer wanted as its not filled with colour. Its a book cover which suits purpose.

What is graphic Design?

So as you can probably already tell this is going to be my foundation into my university life and developing of my art work. Anyway one of my briefs was to explain what I felt graphic design was.

Graphic design is more of a focused aspect to the art work. Its focused upon communication between artist and client and is a part of the art world which is more structured. If there is one art form which is thrown into our faces it will be graphic design. Its the art work which has a finish. It is linked into media and advertising because each piece that is seen would of been backed up by an aspect of graphic design be it digital, traditional or photographic.

Graphic design is about ideas but also seeing the ideas in a practical matter its all good being able to create an image but the key work "design" takes it to an every day concept needed to create a design career.

Well thats my opinion.

Hey blogger! Oh well as this is my art blog, I'll put a constructive post, I hope you guys liked my art work that I popped up trying to get more of the reading and research done this week as I only have 3 weeks left! YIKES!!! and so much to do! Even if I do go see friends on the odd day!
Oh well I finish in April so all is good.

So I got dumped meaning I now have even more time on my stupid hands! So for my arts project I thought lets make myself my own little logo! Cherries because thats what people know me by and what a starting point and the LornieBon I've decided is my brand its my name lengthend but shortened and rolls off the tounge quite nicely :)

Hello Blogging world!

I know I know its been well over a week since I've posted so will be posting more work and stuff up over the next week, just getting into uni work which I'm finally getting stuck into after months (not good). Also trying to find a job which I give up on! Also being I haven't slept properly in over a week not helping spent most of today asleep so no doubt be up tonight painting away!

Caroline mentioned the exhibit today and well I'm still thinking of what to do for it, I was thinking of maybe an image montage or something I know the works have canvases but I don't know.

Ah well!
Must crack on time waits for no woman!

Blog Update!

Hey guys been trying not to make this a personal blog but ya know I am here and I am a growing artist ;) like many of us!

Any who, been on my travels again went to Cambridge yesterday and Norwich took a few pictures but not many However did pick up a book on the bus ( yes I know scrounger! eek!)  But personally its about time I began to accumulate books and magazines! I wanna get back into a more fine art perspective on things and feel this is the way forward!!!

This ones in ball point pen because to be honest I hate using computer programs I can control my own hand much better.
